Discover the lively centre of Nieuwpoort

What's on offer in the region?

Holidays are synonymous with relaxation. But that doesn’t mean you have to rest all day.

If you like to explore, here are some interesting tips to make your holiday fun and varied.

strand Nieuwpoort

SUNBATHING AT THE BEACH

The beach can be found 50 metres from the hotel. It is a fine family seaside resort with many recreational facilities.

The 50-metre-wide beach has already received the Blue Flag environmental award several times and the traffic-free Zeedijk is a great place for a stroll.

Albert-1-Monument

MONUMENT
ALBERT-I

A few kilometres from the hotel, the King Albert Monument stands on the right bank of the River Ijzer. This 25-metre-high monument, designed by Julien de Ridder, is a real eye-catcher in the Nieuwpoort landscape.

What’s more, you can visit it free of charge every day. Be sure to take a look at the visitor centre beneath the monument. Here you can immerse yourself in the history of the First World War, with an exhibition on the sinking of the Ijzervlakte.

Visit the monument on foot or by bike.

Jachthaven Nieuwpoort

PORT OF NIEUWPOORT

Near the Albert I monument, you’ll also find the Nieuwpoort marina. With its 2,000 piers, it is the largest marina in Northern Europe.

Don’t miss the chance to take a look around and marvel at the sight of the countless masts and sails.

IJZERMONDING NIEUWPOORT

IJZERMONDING NATURE RESERVE

Finally, around five kilometres from the hotel, you will find the Ijzermonding nature reserve. Fresh and salt water mix here, creating unique biotopes for plants and animals. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some seals! Finally, in the middle of the estate is the Nieuwpoort lighthouse.

And if you still haven’t had enough after all those excursions, the beach awaits you just outside the hotel.

Prefer to take a breather? Put your feet up at the Belgo restaurant or Smak & Saga.
